Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2026: Face-off, Isaiah Hartenstein vs. Myles Turner

By SportsEthos Staff Published October 13, 2026 3 min read

Our Fantasy Face-Off series will feature two SportsEthos staffers making their arguments in a head-to-head battle of comparable fantasy players.

Isaiah Hartenstein and Myles Turner are coming off draft boards around the No. 100 spot after tandem disappointing seasons; one due to injury and the other to pure underperformance. Today it’s dynasty expert Mark C in Hartenstein’s corner and managing editor Mike Passador throwing his support toward Turner.

Hartenstein finished the season ranked 106/111 in 8/9-cat scoring, more or less in line with his ADP. His 47 appearances, however, were his fewest since 2020-21 and a couple of calf problems meant that Hartenstein was playing at a reduced capacity even when he was on the court later in the season. The big man has proven to be a superb fit in OKC’s ecosystem and he now has a new contract to prove as much, but managers were left with Hartenstein playing far below his capabilities for most of the season. It stung because he was off to a brilliant start: Hartenstein was the No. 53/56 (8-cat/9-cat) player per game across 19 appearances before his first calf injury, averaging 27.8 minutes, 12.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.7 blocks, 67.1 percent from the field and 64.0 percent from the line. His playing time was a point of frustration from there on out but the Thunder were rightfully prioritizing his health for the playoffs, leaving fantasy managers with mediocre production.

Turner’s playing time was just as troubling and he didn’t even have injuries to fall back on as an excuse. The Bucks made Turner their big offseason add in a last-ditch attempt to build a contender around Giannis Antetokounmpo. A strong defender and quality 3-point threat was a good idea on paper but the pairing never really seemed to click, and it didn’t help that Doc Rivers seemingly had no idea how to get the most out of Turner — eventually it felt like he had no interest in getting the most out of Turner. He shot it well from deep but that was the only thing that optimists could cling to. Turner posted the second-lowest block number of his career and he was just a bit part despite his big new contract. He only topped 30 minutes twice from February 1 to the end of the season and only hit the 20-point mark eight times, closing the year out in a timeshare with Jericho Sims. The Bucks brought in Turner to give them a younger, more dynamic version of Brook Lopez’s skill set; instead they got Lopez production at four times the cost. It all landed Turner at 121/93 in the rankings.

Both players are looking for bounce-back efforts and are not that far removed from top-60 value. Who is the better bet for your squads?
