September 9, 2026, 8:00 amWe’ve got a set of four potentially transformational fantasy pickups, including a couple players who could’ve been out for the season, but are now trending towards a return for the last couple weeks of the season.
Shea Langeliers – C – Athletics – 64% Rostered
The Athletics presumed Langeliers would miss the remainder of the season (causing him to be mass dropped across fantasy leagues) after suffering a torn meniscus at the end of July, but even with the team well out of contention, the door for a late season return remains propped open. Langeliers continues to work through hitting and throwing progressions, and is now taking batting practice and running the bases in a more advanced stage of his rehab.
The Athletics still don’t have any competitive incentive to rush a return, but when he’s ready, he’ll play, and it looks increasingly likely as though he could be ready by the end of the season. There’s no doubt about his value when healthy-he’s a bona fide top three fantasy catcher in the sport who is a must roster in all formats when healthy; fantasy owners who hold an open IL slot should absolutely stash the slugging catcher, with an eye towards activation for the final round of the playoffs, or the last two weeks of roto leagues.
Henry Bolte – OF – Athletics – 20% Rostered
