Injuries are mounting up, which is no surprise with one week and spare change left in the regular season. I will get into everything notable as we move along.
Top Pickups
This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.
If you have been following us, I assume players like Daniss Jenkins, Gui Santos, Maxime Raynaud and so on have already been snatched up. I’ll cover a few lesser guys on the margins here, who should be widely available.
Rui Hachimura (9%)
Do I have significant confidence in Hachimura? No, I do not. However, someone has to be the “second option” in terms of scoring and even if Hachimura isn’t that person, he should contribute to the efforts. I would not put a must-roster label on him, but he should be at the very least, close to 12-team value for points, treys and rebounds.
Jake LaRavia (4%)
LaRavia has started 39 games this season, per StatMuse, and is averaging 1.5 steals per game in that span. Other averages of 9.8 points, 1.2 triples, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.5 blocks are not impressive, so view him as a steals specialist and maybe he is forced into doing a little more offensively.
Will Riley (25%)
Riley had 31 points, five steals, five rebounds and two triples on Saturday. That isn’t a line to use as an expectation, but I imagine his opportunities will remain large through the final week of the regular season. Over his past seven games, averages of 19.3 points, 1.6 triples, 3.6 rebounds. 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals are well worth a look for all formats, while his .543 FG% and .889 FT% have room to cool off, but maybe he keeps running hot through the final week.
Honorable Mentions
Consider this space a blend of “double-check to see if this guy isn’t available” and other noteworthy, but not quite top picks, including some names for deep leagues.
Justin Champagnie (7%)
Jamir Watkins (5%)
Ousmane Dieng (21%)
Pete Nance (1%)
Luke Kennard (3%)

WAS
Wizards: Alex Sarr, Tristan Vukcevic, Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Justin Champagnie were all initially questionable to play on Saturday.
Ultimately, Champagnie, Coulibaly and Johnson played on Saturday.
Sarr and Vukcevic were out on Saturday.I highly doubt that Sarr plays at all again this season and maybe Vukcevic is 50-50 for Sunday. The questionable-but-available Saturday group (Johnson, Coulibaly, Champagnie) should be big risks for a game off on Sunday.
Teams on First Night of a Back-to-Back
CLE, MEM, ORL
Cavs: Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill are out on Sunday for injury management and should return on Sunday.
Dean Wade and Jaylon Tyson will remain sidelined.Grizzlies: Besides all the long-term absences, Cam Spencer, Javon Small and Jahmai Mashack are out, while GG Jackson and Cedric Coward are also projected to be out. Walter Clayton Jr. is questionable.
Ty Jerome likely won’t play again this season. That isn’t official, but that is what I expect.
Magic: There is nothing new here since Anthony Black and Jonathan Isaac are still sidelined. Since Franz Wagner is available, he should sit out on Monday.
Top Stories to Watch
Stephen Curry (right patellofemoral pain syndrome) is expected to return from a 27-game absence on Sunday:
Obviously, Curry will likely be on some level of restriction. I went into it in more detail for the waiver wire article, but considering Curry’s ceiling is a first-round player, even if we get 70 percent to 80 percent of the usual Curry, you should be rostering and starting him.Luka Doncic (right hamstring strain) and Austin Reaves (left oblique muscle strain) injury fallout:
So, Jake LaRavia had been starting in the absence of Marcus Smart (right ankle contusion), who is still out. Now, two other starters are out. Rui Hachimura should start, but the fifth starter is up in the air. I would expect it to be Luke Kennard, but don’t be surprised by a Bronny James, Kobe Bufkin or Nick Smith Jr. appearance either. LaRavia (steals with balanced potential) and Hachimura (points, threes, rebounds) should both be worth 12-team consideration. Kennard might be a low-end 12-team gamble for points, treys and the hope of a couple assists if he starts, but might be more in the 14-team range. If Bronny, Smith or Bufkin get a surprise nod, I would not trust them outside of very deep leagues and even in a 20-teamer, you might have safer alternatives.Immanuel Quickey’s plantar fasciitis:
Quickley is out for an eight consecutive game and dropped him should be in the mix if your league extends into the final week of the regular season. He could return at any point, but plantar fasciitis can be a persistent issue that simply needs extended rest and recovery. Ja’Kobe Walter (threes, steals) should retain a 14-team boost and Jamal Shead (assists, steals) is worth a look in 12-team leagues.Max Strus stayed in the starting lineup on Thursday:
We have seen Strus start extensively before, so I only view this as a catapulting of his 12-team stream appeal and he isn’t must-roster.Nikola Vucevic (right ring finger fracture) will be questionable to return from a 14-game absence:
I don’t think Vuc is a must-grab as he was floating around at a top-105 level pre-injury. At the same time, I am sure that for some of you, he might just be the best option out there to improve your team, so in that case, you can go for it. I just don’t think he is a must-add at all costs, but he is certainly worth a look.My Injury Notes for Sunday
