Every week I will do a quick drive thru of the all the games and cover the relevant fantasy points. I will look at things that might be fluky or here to stay and try and point everyone in the right direction for the future. We never want to overreact to a small-sample size, but sometimes getting in too early is still better than missing the boat entirely.
Chargers 37 – Vikings – 10Â
Justin Herbert is the QB3 so far and it’s just insane that he’s got the best arm in the league and now might be the best running QB as well. The crazy part is that the Chargers are still getting better and despite having three legit WRs, they now have an elite TE as well. Oronde Gadsden posted 77 yards and another score and not only is must-start, but might be a league winner. When one wins, another must lose and it was Quentin Johnston who lost with zero targets and while he’s not a drop, you can’t start him right now. Ladd McConkey, you can start as he led the team in targets, receptions, and yards, finishing with 88 yards and a touchdown. Ladd was the best buy-low target in fantasy after a few weeks, but that doors is closed shut. Keenan Allen had a quiet outing Thursday, catching four of five targets for 44 yards and at his age, you are rolling the dice each week but at least he’s healthy. Kimani Vidal bounced back in Week 8. He ran 23 times for 117 yards and a touchdown and with Omarion Hampton not back anytime soon, it’s Vidal and no one as the LAC RBs. I bet on Hassan Haskins and am regretting that while I lick my wounds, but these situations are always a toss-up. The Vikings looked lost and Carson Wentz was a shell of his near-former self. If he had played great, he might have saved his job, but instead JJ McCarthy is back as the QB1, but who knows how long he can stay healthy. Wentz is a decent stash in Super Flex, but the problem is Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison take a big hit with McCarthy back. Jordan Addison caught three passes for 26 yards and a touchdown which is great while Justin Jefferson was the lone bright spot in Minnesota’s offense Thursday. Catching seven of 11 targets for 74 yards. Jefferson is a must-start no matter who is QB, but Addison is a fringe play now and I wouldn’t blame you for benching him to see what his volume will look like under McCarthy. The running game was terrible as Jordan Mason had six yards on five carries and Aaron Jones returned from a hamstring injury but managed just 30 total yards on seven touches. I expect this offense to get back to running the ball first and passing second.
Pickup of the game: None
Dolphins 34 – Falcons – 10
It was kind of shocking to see MIA wake up and ATL roll over at home. This set up as the ideal Bijan Robinson game and I’m sure 99% of the people bet his over, but he managed just 48 total yards and lost a fumble in the best matchup of his season. The problem was ATL couldn’t move the ball and Kirk Cousins struggled in his spot start Sunday, completing 21 of 31 passes for just 173 yards. With no Drake London, the offense stalled out and Robinson couldn’t get any momentum. Hopefully Micheal Penix is back next week because Cousins is cooked. Kyle Pitts caught all nine of his targets for 59 yards in Sunday’s loss to Miami, leading the Falcons in receptions and yards, but it was Darnell Mooney who really dropped the ball with one grab for 11 yards. You can’t play Falcons on the road and now you can’t play them at home without Penix. This team man. Tua Tagovailoa bounced back in a big way Sunday, completing 20 of 26 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns which is crazy considering how effective the ATL pass defense has been. This game was a one-off and you can’t take much from it, but either way Tua saved his job and Jaylen Waddle kept up his WR1 act, catching five of six targets for 99 yards and a touchdown. De’Von Achane handled 18 carries for 67 yards and added five catches for 24 yards and a touchdown and he appears to be staying healthy and putting up massive RB numbers week after week despite MIA being a bad team. With the Ravens up next, who knows if MIA can keep their foot on the gas.
Pickup of the game – RB – Ollie Gordon – Priority Med for a stash

Jets 39 – Bengals 38
This game was nuts. Justin Fields completed 21 of 32 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown while adding 31 rushing yards to save his job if not the season as the Jets got thier first win. This was without Garret Wilson and while Mason Taylor scored and racked up 34 yards, it’s hard to trust anyone on the Jets right now. Breece Hall exploded for 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and this might be his last game with the Jets. If this was a showcase, it was perfect as he averaged 7.4 YPC and shredded a terrible CIN defense. Isaiah Davis is an elite, elite stash in case Hall gets hurt or gets traded. CIN refuses to go away and though they needed this win, the offense is back to being unstoppable. Ja’Marr Chase is in a league of his own in terms of targets and add another 19 to his count. Only Puka Nacua can touch him at this rate as the WR1. The problem is Flacco isn’t diversifying and with Tee Higgins, he should be. Higgins only saw two targets, but one of them was a 44 yard TD, so his day was saved. The good news is the schedule is so fantasy friendly over the next stretch, that Flacco, Chase and Higgins are going to carry you to the playoffs. The wild card is Chase Brown, totaled 105 yards and two touchdowns in second straight great game. Hopefully, he is finding his groove because the Bengals are 10x better when they have a threat of running the ball. Samaje Perine got involved too with nine carries for 94 yards, but he isn’t anything more than a stash.
Pickup of the game – RB – Isaiah Davis – Priority High
Patriots 32 – Browns 13
The headline here is Quinshon Judkins hurt his shoulder, but he’s day-to-day and hopefully doesn’t miss anytime. The goods news is CLE is on a bye and he gets an extra week to heal. If they don’t have thier rookie, they don’t have anything as Jerry Jeudy is terrible and the passing game is being together at TE. Harold Fannin Jr. stayed heavily involved, catching six of eight targets for 62 yards and a touchdown. David Njoku also found the end zone, hauling in four passes for 37 yards and a score. Dillon Gabriel had two TDs, but also two INTs and he’s just about the worst QB in the NFL. Assuming Judkins is fine, there isn’t a clear move to invest in this offense, but Dylan Sampson is a solid option if you have a deep bench and can afford to stash him. The Pats are the anti-Browns and are lighting up every defense that goes against them. Drake Maye completed 18 of 24 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns while adding 50 rushing yards and he’s getting better each game. Most GM drafted Maye as a QB2, but unless you Pat Mahomes there aren’t really any options with a higher floor or ceiling. TreVeyon Henderson posted a career-high 75 rushing yards on 10 carries in Sunday’s win over Cleveland, while Rhamondre Stevenson struggled with 34 yards on 14 attempts, hopefully signyfing a changing of the guard at RB. You still can’t trust Henderson, but at least he’s not a drop. The schedule doesn’t break great for the running game, but this offense might be to potent to bench. Mack Hollins went off in this one, but that’s a one-off as he led the team in targets and yards. Kayshon Boutte has emerged as one of the best deep threats in the league and he finished with 75 yards on three grabs plus a score. Boutte is scoring every game and with Maye perfecting the deep ball, the Boutte-Maye connection is going to win leagues. Stefon Diggs finally scored, but he only had three grabs which GMs will take.
Pickup of the game – RB- Dylan Sampson – Priority Low
Eagles 38 – Giants 20Â
Poor Cam Skattebo is out for the season after breaking out as maybe the best rookie RB for fantasy. That is no longer and make sure Tyrone Tracy isn’t on the wire. Jaxson Dart completed 14 of 24 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown while adding 17 rushing yards which wasn’t great considering he had been good for 50 yards on the ground a game. The running TDs are great though and he’s a great option as QB2 in Super Flex leagues. Wan’Dale Robinson caught three of four targets for 48 yards. This was a mini revenge game for PHI who lost two weeks ago, so they were locked and loaded on both ends. Saquon Barkley beasted for a 65 yard TD on his first carry and finished with 150 yards on the ground with a score plus another TD through the air before he hurt his groin. It doesn’t appear to be serious, so hopefully he doesn’t miss any time, but pick up Tank Bigsby anyways who went off for 104 yards on nine carries. With no AJ Brown, everyone knew DeVonta Smith would go nuts, and nuts he did with six for 84, but it was Dallas Goedert who pulled in two TDs on three grabs. Jalen Hurts broke his streak of 280+ passing yards in three straight, but Philly only threw the ball 20 times compared to 3 rushing attempts.
Pickup of the game – RB – Tank Bigsby – Priority Med
Ravens 30 – Bears 16
The Ravens needed this game desperately and despite the chaos around Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley played well enough to win as the defense finally stepped up. Huntley was a decent one game rental due to the bye weeks, but Jackson should be back next game, right? Derrick Henry did his job with two TDs, despite only averaging 3.4 YPC on 21 attempts. Zay Flowers paced the team on targets, receptions and yards and sadly there isn’t a TE you can roster on this team, yet. The Ravens are about to take off and the schedule is a dream over the next month, so prepare for 30 points to be the floor for this offense. Hopefully Isiah Likely can get going at some point this season, but I still wouldn’t trust Rashod Bateman despite his 51 yards. The Bears offense is back to struggling as Caleb Williams only had zero TDs against what had been one of the worst defenses in the NFL. D’Ande Swift scored again and cobbled together a decent line despite the offense only scoring once. The good news is that Rome Odunze was elite with seven grabs for 114 yards and his two game blip is over. DJ Moore was solid as well with four grabs for 73 yards, but otherwise the Bears had trouble moving the chains. Everyone is worth playing next week as CIN up next and we just saw the Jets almost put up 40 on them. Look for a massive CHI bounce back next week.
Pickup of the game – None – Â
