How’d We Get Here?
It was a quiet offseason for the Bulls, who did most of their roster shakeup during the season by trading Zach LaVine. Their one big transaction was swapping out Lonzo Ball for Isaac Okoro, a player to whom the Cavs were expected to have to attach an asset in order to move. Chicago drafted Noa Essengue at the No. 12 spot as their big rookie arrival and continued to work the trade phones but came up empty on deals for Nikola Vucevic even after his resurgent season. The Bulls are hoping that strong finishes from Josh Giddey (who is still technically unsigned as of this writing) and Coby White can carry over, but even then it looks like a year of misery awaits the good people of the Windy City.
