• Welcome to Thursday Night Pickups. The NBA is back in full swing with a plethora of games and news alike. With fantasy playoffs right around the corner, it is time to find value that will help win in the short term to crush your matchups. Here are some interesting names that will help push your fantasy team over the edge.

    Standard Leagues

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

    Quentin Grimes, G/F, PHI

Tonight’s Game: 33 Minutes, 12 points (5-of-12 FG, 1-of-1 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one triple

Grimes is the “Nick Nurse treatment” in Philadelphia. The minutes are plentiful, which mean Grimes is worth rostering off opportunity alone. When all of their stars are healthy, he will post around top-110 value, but when one or more of the stars sit, the upside increases significantly. Don’t let Grimes sit it on the wire.

    Wendell Carter Jr., C, ORL

Tonight’s Game: 32 Minutes, nine points (4-of-8 FG, 1-of-2 FT), 15 rebounds and one block

This one isn’t that exciting, but Carter Jr. looks to have regained the spot as the starting center in Orlando. He is a better fit next to Orlando’s stars despite his defensive flaws. The rebounds are great here, but this isn’t something you can expect on a nightly basis. If you are in need of some low-end big man stats, Carter Jr. is someone worth considering.
