Finding value on the waiver wire can be difficult, especially rest of season value. Plenty of players have excellent weeks but that alone in a vacuum does  not make that person a worthwhile pickup, especially in leagues that cap how many waivers you can have in a given week.

So it is important to look “under the hood” to see if the production is real or not. Below are a couple of outfielders that are producing with statcast numbers to back them up . There is also an ace-level pitcher that has a terrible ERA but should be rostered significantly more than he is.
