In a rather surprising move, Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that the Pacers have fired their head coach, Nate McMillan.

This comes only a couple weeks after it was reported that the Pacers had reworked McMillan’s final year under contract for 2020-21 and added a team option for 2021-2022 in the form of a soft extension. McMillan was criticized for the offense he runs and this year’s sweep by the Heat in the playoffs was probably what made the Pacers decide that it was time to move on from him.
