We are approaching the midway point of the NBA season and by now, managers have an idea of which roster spots are taken and which ones are available for streams. It may be hard to find ‘rest of season’ adds, but that does not mean there are not guys you can target for short term production or to help you in a particular category. Whatever the reason is, we got you covered with a list of under rostered gems that can be added to provide managers with instant production.
NOTE: Special thanks to Anthony Kates, my partner in baseball crime (we’re Astros’ fans, don’t hate), for helping me with tonight’s article.
Standard Leagues
(<50% rostered on Yahoo)
Grayson Allen (19% rostered)
Tonight’s game: 25 minutes, nine points (3-for-7 FG) three triples, three rebounds, one steal, one block.Â
He has been able to take advantage of Royce O’Neale’s absence and provide the type of 3-and-D floor that made him one of the best waiver wire adds last season and this game was his floor. It was not pretty overall, but three triples and two defensive stats ain’t too bad for a ‘floor’ for a player you snag off the wire.
Nick Richards (14% rostered)
Tonight’s game: 25 minutes, 15 points (4-of-6 FG, 7-of-8 FT), 12 rebounds, three blocks.Â
This is more of a ‘watch list’ play for standard leagues with Mark Williams now fully cutting into Richards’ minutes on most nights. But tonight, Richards outplayed Williams and earned more minutes. If Richards can just maintain a 20+ minutes per game, he can snag boards and blocks in a hurry. Also, the Hornets have a back-to-back this weekend so Richards should be at least targeted for the game Williams will sit.
