Key Storylines

Star-less Magic: With Franz Wagner missing extended time after suffering an oblique tear during Friday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, along with Paolo Banchero still not close to returning from his oblique strain suffered at the start of the season, Orlando urgently needs production from the rest of its roster, and there’s plenty members of it who are available on the waiver wire right now.

The past few weeks I’ve been preaching about how good the production of centers like Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner has been, with Wendell Carter Jr. also being in the mix, but he’s been the least effective so far with the three of them sharing minutes. Bitadze and Wagner continue to be a hell of a pick if they’re available in your league still, and names like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anthony Black and now Cole Anthony (who had his highest minute count of the season along with 14 points vs. the Suns on Sunday), are all viable options who can turn great performances for you in a week where production will be lacking in general for all fantasy teams.

Keep an eye out on Jonathan Isaac’s availability for the game, as he’s currently listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury, but he could also be an option to gain minutes due to Franz Wagner’s absence, if he can handle more minutes that is.

Nothing to see here: The Bucks continue the trend of being one of the worst fantasy basketball contributors of the season, as anyone outside of their starting lineup is just a subpar option for production. Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) and Khris Middleton (ankle) are listed as probable for Tueday’s match, it would be very unlikely for them to miss the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup, so don’t expect any extra minutes or production from anyone outside of the regulars.

Taurean Prince is a russian roulette, Gary Trent Jr. is the most likely to output some numbers primarily focusing on scoring, triples and steals, and it’s the same for AJ Green on a lower scale, and there isn’t much else to choose from.

It’s all Orlando Magic blue in here: Goga Bitadze, Moritz Wagner and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are the main pick I’d go for.

Alternatives: Anthony Black (points, assists, steals), Cole Anthony (points, 3s), Wendell Carter Jr. (points, rebounds), Gary Trent Jr. (points, 3s, steals).
