Key Storylines

– Suns’ Guard Depth: Bradley Beal and Devin Booker have both been ruled out again for Sunday’s match-up against the Pistons. This means that Eric Gordon and Grayson Allen will continue to start in the guard spots and Kevin Durant will need to continue carrying the team as the primary offensive option. This is the second leg of the back to back for the Suns so minutes for their veterans is worth keeping an eye on, but the Suns record need another win as they could be at risk of falling to 2-6 on the season.

– Battle in the Paint: Jalen Duren has been dominant in the paint in his sophomore season so far and his physicality could give Jusuf Nurkiç and Drew Eubanks trouble. Duren is shooting 67.5% from the field and is pulling in 11.6 rebounds per game. Spacing remains an issue for the Pistons but the Suns allow 12.17 offensive rebounds per game to opponents, fourth highest in the league this season, so there will be plenty of opportunities for second chance points in the paint.
