    Phoenix Suns @ Philadelphia 76ers

    Game Time: 1:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    PHO +6.5 (-112), PHI -6.5 (-108)
    Game Total 220

    Key Storylines

    – Getting Healthy? Bradley Beal is still banged up, but Devin Booker looked good in his return with 31 points and 13 assists in the last one. If he can go here, it’s going to be a big boon for the team on both sides of the basketball. The only guys you can rely on for this Suns squad right now are Kevin Durant, Booker, Jusuf Nurkic, and Grayson Allen.

    – All Embiid All the Time: The Sixers are relying heavily on Joel Embiid these days as they wait to nab a second star with their assets from the James Harden trade. Kelly Oubre Jr. has been called a “temporary starter” by his head coach, but this team is certainly missing something. This should be a good game with the Sixers so reliant on the performance of their big man.

Grayson Allen seems to be the fill-in for Bradley Beal most directly and had more playmaking opportunities than I imagined in the last game. If Booker misses, you can also look at Eric Gordon and Josh Okogie. Gordon probably doesn’t get enough volume though to be used if Booker is healthy.

    Charlotte Hornets @ Indiana Pacers

    Game Time: 7:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    CHO +4.5 (-108), IND -4.5 (-112)
    Game Total 240

    Key Storylines

    – Still Bad? Yep, the Hornets are still bad, and they sorely miss the athleticism of Miles Bridges. He’s only going to miss 10 games this season and it looks like so far he has avoided additional punishment for throwing pool balls at his ex’s car (yikes) with the children in the back seat (double yikes). Yes, it’s gross, but you need to be rostering Miles Bridges for fantasy basketball purposes. LaMelo Ball has been absolutely dreadful to start the season shooting the basketball and I expect that to change drastically at some point, so buy low if you can.

    – Still Good? The Pacers, on the other hand, have jumped out of the gate playing great basketball. They’re still searching for an answer at the four-spot, but Obi Toppin has been okay and they have the ability to give teams different looks with Jalen Smith or going smaller with Aaron Nesmith. Those guys aren’t on the radar yet in standard leagues, but they should be considered for deep leagues, 16 teams or more.

    Stream of the Game

Miles Bridges is a grab and stash and I’ll tag Jalen Smith as the guy to own in Indiana today as the Hornets struggle on the boards and with size.

Atlanta Hawks @ New Orleans Pelicans

    Game Time: 7:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    ATL +2 (-112), NOP -2 (-108)
    Game Total 234.5

    Key Storylines

    – Figuring It Out: The Hawks have turned a corner recently and the story has been the excellent play of Dejounte Murray. I don’t think that sticks forever but it’s going to be a nice period as he puts up big lines. Trae Young is still struggling from the field, but he’ll have some weeks of massive contributions as well. As long as the Hawks stay winning, I have faith coach Snyder will figure out how to best utilize the talents on this roster. They’ve already had some positive results from opening up their offense. They have the fifth best offensive rating in the league and have scored the second most points per game in the association.

    – Brandon Ingram: Can he get healthy? The team’s sitting on a 4-1 record, mostly without him, so then the question becomes: Do they even need him to get healthy? It’s been a big start, and the pieces on this roster are certainly interesting, but we’ll have to see this success in the long wrong before we start getting too excited. Zion Williamson is playing winning basketball at the moment.

    Stream of the Game

Jordan Hawkins just had a quiet game, but the minutes are absolutely there and the shot attempts have generally been there as well. Look for him to bounce back, especially if BI has to miss this one.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic

    Game Time: 7:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    LAL -3.5 (-112), ORL +3.5 (-108)
    Game Total 223

    Key Storylines

    – Rotations, Rotations, Rotations: We’re still watching the Lakers try to cement their full-time rotations in real time. It’s hard to trust any of the Lakers bench guys until we know for certain, and now we have a wrench thrown in with Gabe Vincent reportedly going to miss weeks. Max Christie is an interesting guy to keep an eye on in super deep leagues. Otherwise it’ll be a lot of D’Angelo Russell and Cam Reddish.

    – Big Man Down: Wendell Carter Jr. fractured his finger in the last one and it seems like he’s not comfortable enough to play through it. It should be Moritz Wagner time in Orlando, but I’m at least minorly nervous that the Magic will find a way to play him only 20ish minutes. Jonathan Isaac and Chuma Okeke are just sitting there if they decide to go small. Luckily, with Anthony Davis and some other big bodies across the way, I don’t foresee that happening here. It’s possible they surprise me though.

    Stream of the Game

Moritz Wagner is still available in 3/4 of leagues and that’s just silly. He’s worth a speculative add and let’s see if the stats roll in.

    Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets

    Game Time: 8:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    BOS -9.5 (-108), BKN +9.5 (-112)
    Game Total 228

    Key Storylines

    – Best Team in Basketball? The Celtics have started 4-0 and look just like it. There’s not much to really watch here other than good basketball and to see how Kristaps Porzingis continues to fit alongside the Celtics starters.

    – Offense on a B2B: It’ll be curious to see what the offense for the Nets looks like on the second half of a B2B. They’ve relied heavily on Cam Thomas to create, but will it be an ugly game up against the stellar defense of the C’s? He’ll have to do battle with Derrick White and Jrue Holiday and that just makes me want to cry thinking about it.

    Stream of the Game

Dorian Finney-Smith has been worth owning for about a week now, so you should go snap him up. Lonnie Walker IV is also an intriguing guy in competitive leagues where DFS has been snapped up, but the matchup is a rough one.

    Sacramento Kings @ Houston Rockets

    Game Time: 8:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    SAC -2.5 (-110), HOU +2.5 (-110)
    Game Total 221

    Key Storylines

    – Life Without Fox: No De’Aaron Fox, so we should get some more Davion Mitchell tonight, which is a very fun watch on the defensive end if you have never watched him before. We’ll also get more Malik Monk on offense, which I’m always all about. These Kings are very fun.

    – Failure to Launch: Very early returns for the Rockets haven’t been great, but there’s still plenty of time to turn it all around. This will be a nice test for them and they’re hungry enough to steal a victory against this Kings team even if they’re heavy underdogs.

    Stream of the Game

Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk seem to be available in over half of all leagues on Yahoo! and that’s where the Kings should look for offensive production. Davion Mitchell is worth a snag in competitive leagues too with his ability to put up steals and assists, but the scoring will be pretty hit or miss.

    Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves

    Game Time: 8:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    UTH +8 (-110), MIN -8 (-110)
    Game Total 225

    Key Storylines

    – When Do We Play Walker Kessler? It’s the question on everyone’s mind and the Jazz have shown a willingness to go with Kelly Olynyk for offensive creation. Kessler is the far superior defensive asset for this team, but we don’t have a direct way to gauge who will get the minutes on a nightly basis.

    – Two Towers, but the Poor Version: The Wolves need to figure this out and they need to do it quickly before they wind up with a disgruntled Anthony Edwards on their hands. Trade Karl-Anthony Towns already.

    Stream of the Game

Naz Reid has done enough in the early going to be a solid mid-round value. As long as he’s producing at this level, it’s time to scoop him up and hold him for now. I doubt it sticks long term though unless the Wolves move one of their bigs.

    Chicago Bulls @ Denver Nuggets

    Game Time: 9:10 pm ET

    DraftKings Lines

    CHI +8.5 (-105), DEN -8.5 (-115)
    Game Total 216.5

    Key Storylines

    – Panic Button Available? The Bulls are spiraling and keep losing close games, so the frustrations are mounting. Zach LaVine once again made some poor decisions down the stretch of a close ball game, casting his outsized salary into further doubt. There’s rampant speculation that the Bulls will blow it up, but nothing seems imminent at the moment as the Bulls stay the course and keep being a middle-of-the-pack team.

    – World Class Talent: The Nuggets keep trucking along with the pieces to paste over the absence of Bruce Brown to a 5-1 record. There’s talent up and down the roster and this game is in Denver, so expect the Nuggets to go deep.

    Stream of the Game

Coby White has a giant role on this Bulls offense and they’ll need his production to even stay in this game. I’d snap him up and hold him through the bad games give his shot attempts and minutes. He will be helpful in points, assists, and threes with some steals tossed in.
