Key Storylines

It’s not looking good: We are now past the 25% mark of the season in most fantasy leagues, and unfortunately for many fantasy managers who selected Jordan Poole early in their fantasy drafts, it is not looking good at all. Poole is ranked just inside the top 200 in 9-cat leagues in per-game value at the moment, with no signs of improvement. Poole has struggled mightily to find any sort of consistency, and at times is not even the second option on the struggling Wizards squad when it comes to usage on the offensive end. For fantasy managers in shallower formats, it is time to cut bait on him regardless of where he was selected in the draft. Until Poole starts stringing along a number of solid games in a row, there is no need to consider him as a must-roster player at the moment in standard formats.

Wing Rotation: Kelly Oubre Jr. has been coming off the bench since making his return to the court. At the start of the season, Oubre was starting, although this was prior to the Harden trade. The Sixers got a number of wings back in that deal, including veteran Nicolas Batum, who has been starting as of late. Oubre’s fantasy value has always been dependent mainly on his offensive output. Oubre needs minutes and volume to be a positive fantasy contributor in standard formats. If he continues to see minutes in the mid-20s coming off the bench, it is hard to envision him as more than a points and 3-pointer streamer in standard formats moving forward.
