B2B: Friday’s contest is the second leg of a back-to-back set for the Hornets which could result in important players on the roster potentially getting the night off due to injury management. Mark Williams will most likely sit as the Hornets continue to ramp him up slowly, which would catapult Nick Richards back into streaming territory in standard formats for Friday. LaMelo Ball could also be at risk of sitting out after recently returning from injury. Vasilije Micic would be a great option for assists as a streamer should Ball be unavailable. Brandon Miller did miss Thursday’s game due to an ankle injury but was listed initially as questionable, meaning there could be a chance he plays on Friday.
Per an official update, all three of Ball, Williams and Miller have been ruled out.
Embiid Questionable: The big man finally seems to have caught a small break with his body, and after initially being ruled out for at least one week due to a sinus fracture, he seems to have made better progress than first expected and has a chance to return to the court on Friday. Embiid’s looming return kills the streaming appeal of both Andre Drummond, who played well last time out vs. the Hornets, and Guerschon Yabusele in standard formats, that is if Embiid is actually cleared to play.
Stream of the Game
As previously outlined, depending on who is available for the Hornets, the preferred options would be Nick Richards and/or Vasilije Micic. Richards will provide big man stats while Micic will provide mainly assists.
Alternatives: Cody Martin, KJ Martin, Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele (deeper formats only if Embiid plays)
Also maybe Josh Green and Seth Curry, since Curry got 32 minutes sans Miller on Thursday.
