NOTE: The cutoff point will be 50% rostered in NFBC leagues (12-teams). The players will be listed in order of rostership. This article will be updated throughout the weekend.
Porter Hodge – P – CHC – 40%
With Ryan Pressly dealing with a knee issue and overall poor performance (more BBs than Ks, 4.80 xERA, 4.85 SIERA), Porter Hodge is setup to take the closer’s role away from Pressly. Hodge is just the better pitcher. Ignore the surface ERA. Hodge has a 2.64 xERA, 2.87 FIP and a 2.92 SIERA. He has been allowing softer contact (3.0% barrel, 15.2% hard-hit rate) and has was more swing-and-miss (14.8% SwStr%). Now is the last time he will be available in so many leagues.
Recommendation – 12-team leagues – 5-10% of FAAB
