STUDS
1. Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams
In our wide receiver rankings, we have been advocating that separating these two into WR1/WR2 boxes is simply unnecessary with Todd Downing’s offense and, hopefully, Aaron Rodgers playing at a properly consistent level. Well, that happened on Thursday night, with both of them producing premium fantasy games. We think it’s fair to continue thinking this way with both Wilson and Adams because if they can continue to produce like this, their fantasy games won’t separate or hurt fantasy managers that much. In fact, it will help.
2. Tank Dell
Tank got his WR1 status on Thursday night, unfortunately, due to injuries, but he was able to shine in this opportunity. In year two, he still has incredible quickness, speed off his brake, and fantastic route running. This is the exact boost he’ll need for fantasy consistency, as even when Nico Collins returns, he will still be an important part of this offense.
3. Joe Mixon
The guy we have been most excited about on the Houston Texans offense is Joe Mixon. he is everything to this offense, with power running and opening up the passing game for C.J. Stroud. Kirk Herbstreit again made a great comment on Thursday night, saying he looks like a rookie again. We 100% agree.
DUDS
1. C.J. Stroud
Speaking of C.J. Stroud, while Joe Mixon definitely helps open up the passing game for fantasy purposes, Stroud is droppable. The consistent fantasy games are just not there compared to other options across the quarterback waiver wire in standard formats. Last night, the Texans showed incredible concern with their other receivers aside from Dell being unable to get open and this offensive line being completely torn apart. Both of these also hurt Stroud’s fantasy value moving forward.
2. Breece Hall
If we were to redraft the top of the fantasy board this season, it would look a lot different, with a lot of them injured and some just being flat-out inconsistent. That’s where Breece Hall comes in. He has also been a constant part of our Studs and Duds list seemingly every week, with some performances being positive and some just being incredibly discouraging. The inconsistency hurts even more when he was drafted at the #2 pick in most leagues this season. It’s hard to recommend him as an RB1 at this point. He is more of an inconsistent RB2.
