How’d We Get Here?
The Suns blew it up, trading Kevin Durant to Houston and buying out Bradley Beal. They’re left with Devin Booker and a bunch of players that may or may not fit together, proving that time is truly a flat circle. The return for Durant was headlined by Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks (and the No. 10 pick which became Khaman Maluach), while getting out of Beal’s contract was a win in and of itself. The Suns were able to add Mark Williams from the Hornets, giving them a potential long-term answer at center. Beyond that, Phoenix turned over most of the bench group and the idea is to take a step back in order to take a step forward. Only time will tell if it works in the unforgiving Western Conference.
