Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2025: FG% Boosters

By Keston Paul Published October 4, 2025 Updated August 25, 2026 3 min read

When it comes to field-goal percentage (FG%), you are looking to find the right mixture of volume with the actual rate of conversion. A player shooting 2-of-3 from the field every night isn’t going to be as helpful as someone shooting 12-of-20, because you get more insulation from other poor performances. If another player goes 1-of-5 alongside that 2-of-3, your FG% is now 37.5% due to being 3-of-8. Put that 1-of-5 next to the 12-of-20 player and the 13-of-25 shooting works out to 52.0% for your team.

Any player’s FG% is obviously going to be a product of their own overall capabilities; however, unlike FT% where it is just you, the rim and whatever tactics the opposition attempts to distract you with, a player’s FG% can also be influenced by the players they are on the floor with. Better spacing will give a star player more room to operate. An elite playmaker will get their teammates layups or open looks on the perimeter.

As I said when covering free-throw percentage, apply the appropriate context to team building, as you need to account for your positional and statistical needs wisely. Besides draft and roster context, you are not going to be able to acquire most of the players on this list because of ADPs as well.

The is the article layout you can look forward to:

  • Top Influencers – The top-12 players in descending order of who positively impacts your FG% the most.
  • Late-Round Boosters – You can’t influence percentages as easily at this point in the draft, but there are a few names who can give you a last-ditch boost.
  • Deep-League Heroes – Again, you aren’t likely to find high-volume options beyond the scope of a typical 12-team draft, but these players can have a positive influence by chipping in on the margins.

The B150 powers the projections mentioned in this article.
Note that I am rounding off to the nearest decimal place.

Current ADP: 1.00/1.00/1.00 (Yahoo/ESPN/Fantrax)
2024-25 FG% Impact
: 57.6% (11.2/19.5)
2025-26 FG% Projection: 59.5% (10.9/18.4)

Jokic was under an immense workload last season, but to his credit, he was able to step up and carry it. The Nuggets have eased the burden in multiple ways. Jonas Valanciunas might be the best backup center they have had since Mason Plumlee, DaRon Holmes II should be a promising rookie and they added another shooter in Tim Hardaway Jr. while replenishing depth with Bruce Brown. Jokic shot 63.2% from the field on 14.8 field-goal attempts (FGA) per game in 2022-23 when the team won the title. His aggression as a scorer will likely be higher than that, but reducing the 2024-25 workload can very much result in Jokic having a slight FG% increase.

On top of that, the new heave rule is a factor. Sam Quinn of CBS Sports pointed out that Jokic went 2-of-22 on shots in the 2024-25 regular season that would now qualify for the heave “exception,” removing 20 missed shots from his ledger. Jokic doesn’t care about a couple more missed shots, but since he was the most likely to heave, it gives his FG% a slight boost.

#2: Giannis Antetokounmpo
