We’re only two nights into the NBA season, and fantasy managers already have plenty of decisions to make. Ty Jerome just dropped 45 points, Dennis Schrรถder looks like he might run Charlotte’s offense for a while, Yves Missi showed everyone that his game can be fantasy-friendly, and several rookies are discovering that regular-season basketball is a different challenge altogether.
The temptation is to react to everything. Someone scores 30, and he’s suddenly a breakout candidate. Someone shoots 2-of-15, and we’re wondering whether we made a terrible draft decision.
But there’s a difference between reacting to a box score and recognizing a genuine fantasy opportunity.
The minutes, the roles, and the circumstances behind those performances are what matter most. We want to identify which players have an actual path to consistent production and which ones might have simply enjoyed a particularly good night.
Friday brings a massive 12-game slate, with 24 teams in action. That creates plenty of streaming options, although most fantasy managers should have fairly crowded starting lineups.
The bigger opportunity might actually be Saturday. Eleven teams will begin back-to-backs on Friday, and with only eight games scheduled the following night, choosing the right player could give you additional production heading into the weekend.
Let’s break it down!
