• Carmelo Anthony
    PF, Portland Trail Blazers

Marc Berman of the NY Post is reporting that Knicks’ president Leon Rose has had Carmelo Anthony "on his radar" ever since he took over the job in March, but Anthony is coming off a revival with the Blazers and his first choice is returning to Portland.

Anthony did indeed turn into a reliable third wheel behind backcourt stars Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, while earlier in the bubble, Melo stated that Lillard was the best player he’s ever teamed with. The Blazers’ bubble performance meanwhile in which they lifted themselves into the playoffs has changed minds, and the Oregonian reported their players have expressed nothing but love and admiration for Anthony, many of whom grew up idolizing him. Carmelo made the veteran’s minimum of $2.1 million and the Blazers surely would want him for that price, but it’s unclear if he will seek a vast payday.
