Since returning from a one-week sabbatical in mid-January, Larry Nance Jr. is averaging 13.9 points on 59.5 percent shooting and 41.2 from beyond the arc, to go with 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 27.4 minutes.
In 13 December games, Nance averaged just 4.5 points on 38.7 shooting and 23.3 from 3-point range, while he had zero double-figure scoring games and his minutes were equally sporadic as his play. He was in a bad place, both physically and mentally, while his knee ached, limiting his usual bounce. The much needed break he took has proven to be exactly what the doctor prescribed and the Cavs are happy to finally see the player they thought they signed to an extension last year. Tristan Thompson meanwhile has been at the center of trade rumors the last few days and if he is moved ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, that would potentially skyrocket Nance’s fantasy value.
