With just over a month to go until the trade deadline, rumors are swirling around White Sox star Luis Robert Jr., and his potential future on a contending team. Robert Jr. won’t turn 27 until after the deadline, and has contract options to keep him under team control through the 2027 season, which will almost certainly be picked up by whoever he plays for at that time. Despite being one of the game’s top outfielders with tools to burn, from his top-tier speed, to Gold Glove defense, to jaw dropping power and beautiful swing mechanics, Robert Jr.’s unique skill set (or lack thereof) creates a dichotomy that is almost impossible to project for three or five years, let
alone ten.
