The Bengals come to San Franciso with a 3-3 record after a slow start, putting them fourth in the AFC North. The Bengals notched a victory in their previous game, defeating the Seahawks 17-13. The Bengals offense is ranked 25th in the league at just a bit over 16 points per game. The 49ers are coming off a 22-17 loss to the Vikings to fall to 5-2. The 49ers offense is averaging a little over 28 points per game, which is second in the league.

    Main Storylines to Watch

Who will be the QB for the 49ers? Brock Purdy is coming off one of his worst games where he threw for two interceptions vs. one touchdown in a loss to the Vikings. He began experiencing concussion symptoms on the flight home which put him into the league’s concussion protocol earlier in the week. If he cannot get cleared (most players miss at least one game), Sam Darnold would start at QB against the Bengals.

Does the bye week help Joe Burrow get back to an automatic top QB option? After a smash game against the Cardinals in week 5, Burrow only threw for 185 yards against the Seahawks in week 6. Following his bye week last year, Burrow had a QB1 and QB2 finish in two of his next three games.
