Lean: 13-11-1 +1.89uI got crushed last week in these, but I feel pretty decently about these two teams matching up Sunday morning. I’ve been following both of these teams pretty closely, and mostly right about them week to week. Let’s get some of those units back.
Main Storylines to Watch
Looking to Rebound: The Lions have come out flat in two straight weeks, but they still went 1-1 with some Jared Goff heroics two weeks ago. It wasn’t going last week, but here they have a good opponent to beat up on in the banged up New Orleans Saints. The Saints will be down at leat two receivers with Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed already ruled out, and possibly a third as Chris Olave tries to come back from a concussion. If the Lions can take care of business on the defensive side, they shouldn’t have to produce a lot offensively to win this.
Derek’s Do-or-Die: Playoff hopes are dwindling for New Orleans. The NY Times has given them just a 43% chance to make the postseason. This is a must-win game for a 32-year-old Derek Carr, and worse he’s down at least two receiving weapons. This team has been very decent all season, and at least for now their eyes are still on the playoffs.
