Want to know where your starting RB might wind up by week’s end? Here’s our guess as to where the RB ranks will shake out when the dust settles on Monday. We hope you’ll use this to determine who to start and who to sit, but also to try to determine if you’re favored at each position in your weekly matchup.
Projected Finish Name Team Notes RB1 Christian McCaffrey SF He somehow didn't score for the first time in forever, but he looked healthy and will get back on board this week RB2 Breece Hall NYJ Smash spot this week vs. the Bills giving up 4.6 YPC RB3 Tony Pollard DAL Something is wrong with Pollard or the offense, but it should work itself out this week vs. Panthers and their 15 TDs allowed to RBs RB4 Austin Ekeler LAC Ekeler broke the 100-all purpose yard mark last week and has a nice matchup vs. Packers who always struggle to contain RBs RB5 Travis Etienne JAC B2B nightmare matchups with Titans this week, but Etienne should still see plenty of work in passing game RB6 Raheem Mostert MIA With the rookie burner back in the fold, it's going to cut into Mostert's workload, but he's still leading the league in TDs RB7 Josh Jacobs LV Broke 100-yard rushing mark first time last week and could keep it going vs. Dolphins, but otherwise miserable season so far RB8 David Montgomery DET Destroyed Chargers in first game back and should get back to basics vs. sneaky Bears rush D that only allows 3.2 YPC, league leading RB9 D'Andre Swift PHI Game of the year vs Chiefs and Swift should be up for it after bye week, Chiefs can't stop the run again this season RB10 Kenneth Walker SEA Got back on track last week and should be in positive game script vs. Rams team with nothing to play for RB11 Devin Singletary HOU Caveat is that Dameon Pierce might be back, but Singletary broke out last week and is a must-start player until proven otherwise RB12 Aaron Jones GB Up-and-down season continues, but Packers have great matchup for ground game and expect to see Jones finally blow up RB13 Jahmyr Gibbs DET Will likely be used more in passing game than running game this week so ceiling is capped, but Bears can't stop RBs out of backfield RB14 De'Von Achane MIA He's back! Will be eased into the fold, but likely at least one big play vs. Raiders RB15 Brian Robinson WAS Not the most explosive back, but Giants giving up most TDs to RBs this season and almost always behind in game, RB1 potential this week RB16 Javonte Williams DEN 20+ carries and a TD in B2B weeks, finally getting going just in time as the Broncos are no longer a joke RB17 Joe Mixon CIN Nightmare spot vs. Ravens this week, would bench if have another option RB18 Gus Edwards BAL Dream scenario vs. Bengals who can't stop anyone on the ground, still managed 11 carries last week in crowded backfield RB19 Isiah Pacheco KC Eagles are a pass-funnell with only three TDs allowed and 3.7 YPC, hate him this week RB20 James Connor ARI Looked good in first game back and should see lion's share of work and all the goal line carries RB21 Alexander Mattison MIN Suffered conccusion last game so if he can't go, Ty Chandler gets a big bump RB22 Jerome Ford CLE Steelers allowing 4.5 YPC, but only five TDs, Ford should run roughshod with PJ Walker under center RB23 James Cook BUF Dominated vs. the Broncos, but Jets are different animal and while they are a run-funnel, Bills' offense looks broken RB24 Rachaad White TB 20+ carries B2B weeks, but Niners are like running into a brick wall, look for checkdown to be the main source of points this week RB25 Chuba Hubbard CAR Low-end play each with tiny ceiling and unstable floor, good luck vs. Cowboys this week RB26 Darrell Henderson LAR He's plug-and-play for the Rams, but they look inept on offense, not a must-start player in tough matchup RB27 Najee Harris PIT Finally looking competent with 16 carries in B2B weeks, but Browns are intimidating front, sneaky value this week RB28 Jaylen Warren PIT He's the better back, but might not be able to prove it this season unless Harris goes down RB29 D'Onta Foreman CHI Herbert looks to be back this week, but touches aren't assured and Foreman is more than capable RB30 Khalil Herbert CHI Risky play this week vs. elite Lions' front, but should be must-start rest of the way if he looks healthy this week RB31 Ty Chandler MIN Huge sneaky play if Mattison misses the game, Chandler has big play ability RB32 AJ Dillon GB Should see some nice volume in goal line this week, multiple TDs on the table RB33 Kareen Hunt CLE Should see even more work as Browns rely on running game as passing game becomes extinct RB34 Keaton Mitchell BAL Only saw three carries, but the proof is in the pudding and has league-swinging potential if he can get the work RB35 Tyjae Spears TEN Just keep holding and hoping for the worst from Henry RB36 Zach Charbonnet SEA Same applies but with Walker RB37 Dameon Pierce HOU Bust of the year so far and even if he is fully healthy, Singletary playing much better than Pierce has all season RB38 Antonio Gibson WAS Solid backup RB in real life, not worth rostering in fantasy RB39 Miles Sanders CAR Only thing grosser than his box scores is the entire Panther team RB40 Jaleel McLaughlin DEN Big-play ability on this resurgent Bronco squad, good stash player
