Zach Eflin OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
In 10 starts since the beginning of August, Zach Eflin has averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. Over the season, Eflin ranks 2nd in WHIP and 18th in K/9 among qualified pitchers. He made a start against this same Red Sox lineup in his first start of September and in that game, Eflin struck out seven batters. The veteran right-hander has eclipsed 5.5 strikeouts in all four of his starts this month.
Michael King OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
Michael King has given Yankees fans something to look forward to heading into next year. King took over starting duties towards the end of August and he has made the most of his opportunity. Since August 29, which is when King was allowed to work more than a couple innings, only Tarik Skubal and Blake Snell have registered more strikeouts. King is tied for third with Tyler Glasnow at 39 strikeouts, each with five games pitched. In his last start, King was sensational, striking out 13 batters over seven innings and lasting over 100 pitches. That start came against the same Blue Jays team that King will be facing on Tuesday.

Justin Steele OVER 5.5 Hits Allowed
This is a massive spot for Justin Steele, who will want to perform better than he did in his previous two starts. In each of his last two starts, Steele allowed six runs. The lefty will have to bounce back against the team that leads the league in batting average and OPS against lefties. In Steele’s last 10 starts, he has allowed six or more hits in nine of them. Even if he is able to keep the runs down, this Braves team should be able to make Justin Steele work.
Cristian Javier OVER 4.0 Hits Allowed
The Mariners need to turn their fortunes around quickly. They have dropped four consecutive games to teams they are in direct competition with for a postseason berth. Justin Verlander, in what could only be described as a vintage performance, held the Mariners to only three hits in eight innings of work in Monday’s game. In Tuesday’s matchup, Seattle will need to get to Cristian Javier, who has been inconsistent this season. Since August 1st, Javier has allowed four hits in all but one start. The Mariners rank just outside the top-10 in total hits over the past week.
