MLB Pick ‘Em Plays of the Day for Sunday, June 25th

  • Here’s some Pick ‘Em plays our team is looking at for today’s MLB slate!

    Writer’s Record: 4-5-2 (-2 Units)

    PrizePicks

    Tyler Anderson OVER 4.5 Strikeouts

The Rockies are averaging 11.4 strikeouts over their last five games. That puts them in the bottom five among all teams. They’re a day off getting embarrassed 25-1, striking out 12 times. TA has gone over this number in each of his last three starts.

Corbin Carroll OVER 1.5 Total Bases

The Diamondbacks continue their series vs. the Giants in San Francisco with Anthony Desclafani taking the mound for the home team. Desclafani has really struggled in June, carrying a 7.94 ERA. Arizona lost the first two in this series and I expect them to avoid the sweep with their main man, Corbin Carroll, leading the way.

    Underdog Fantasy

Shohei Ohtani OVER 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

I prefer Hits + Runs + RBIs in this spot for the MVP over total bases or fantasy points, which sits at 11.5. The points are a little on the high side and there’s the potential Ohtani gets walked, which could limit his opportunity to put the ball in the play.

    MacKenzie Gore OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

Gore has swing and miss stuff. His K% is at 27.6, which puts him in the top 25. He also ranks 18th in SwStr% with 14.8%. The Padres rank in the bottom 10 when it comes to striking out over the past week.

    ThriveFantasy

    Tournament Plays

Tony Gonsolin UNDER 5.5 Total Ks

Gonsolin on his best day does not strike out that many batters. His K/9 is the lowest of his career at 7.4 and that probably has something to do with the Dodgers’ inclination to pull him early. The Astros only average seven strikeouts per game over their last five, so you’re getting a team that doesn’t strike out a lot against a pitcher that doesn’t strike out many batters. This line is at 4 strikeouts on PrizePicks, so a bit of value being offered here.

Mookie Betts OVER 0.5 Total Hits

Mookie is usually around -400 to get a single hit, so again, some great value being offered by ThriveFantasy here. He was in a bit of a slump going into this series, but homered on Friday and had a home run stolen on Saturday when Corey Julks made a phenomenal catch over the railing in left field.
