Eagles vs. Giants
Postgame Storylines
The Eagles laid the smackdown on the Giants in Week 14, embarrassing their division foes at home. From the opening whistle, this game was dominated by the Eagles, who clinched a playoff berth with that victory, advancing to 12-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Giants drop to 7-5-1 with the loss and are currently hanging into the final wildcard spot in the NFC. There were a handful of very strong fantasy performances in this game, including one from an unexpected Giants player.
Top Performers
Jalen Hurts: Once again, Hurts put on an incredibly impressive performance on Sunday. He finished the week as the overall QB1 and has officially passed Patrick Mahomes as this year’s top ranking fantasy QB. Hurts finished with 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while completing 21-of-31 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Even with a monster performance from Miles Sanders, Hurts was still able to get the job done for his fantasy GMs as well.
Miles Sanders: After slowing down over the past several weeks, Sanders burst back onto the fantasy scene with a massive RB1 performance in Week 14. Sanders rushed 17 times for 144 yards and two scores, adding an 11-yard reception. This should give his fantasy GMs some faith as they head into the fantasy playoffs next weekend.
Richie James: With the Giants receiving room being dismantled by injuries this season, James has stepped into a prominent role on this offense. He finished Week 14 as the WR15, grabbing seven receptions on nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. He has had at least 41 yards and a touchdown in three of his last four games, rocketing up the WR leaderboard as the WR20 during that four-game stretch.
A.J. Brown & DeVonta Smith: The studly duo of Brown and Smith nearly had identical lines against the Giants, finishing as the WR11 and WR13, respectively. Brown hauled in four receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown, meanwhile Smith grabbed five passes for 64 yards and a score. Both players are locked into starting lineups and should be great options throughout the fantasy playoffs.
Biggest Busts
Saquon Barkley: What an absolute dud from Barkley against the Eagles. With the Giants falling behind very early, Barkley had his touches limited and found his way to the bench early in the second half. Barkley finished with nine rushes for 28 yards, hauling in both targets for 20 yards. It was his second horrible performance of the season and fantasy GMs will need him to quickly bounce-back against the Commanders in Week 15.
Darius Slayton: After becoming a very reliable fantasy asset over the past several weeks, Slayton disappointed in Week 14. The Eagles dominated the game, but somehow Slayton did not find a featured role in the passing attack as the Giants tried to play comeback. He finished the game with 42 yards on 2-of-3 receptions, a performance that will need to be quickly forgotten by his fantasy GMs.
