Key Storylines/What to Watch
Both the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers made efforts to upgrade their quarterbacks this offseason. Neither team has much to show for it as the season enters the final stretch. Russel Wilson has been a fantasy disaster this year and makes for a hard-to-trust option this week while running back Latavius Murray seems locked into a sizable workload with Melvin Gordon out the door. Jerry Jeudy will miss this week and with KJ Hamler also missing, Courtland Sutton is in play as a decent WR2. Greg Dulcich is seeing the snaps and could be more involved this week and can be used as a backend TE1 this week.
For the Panthers, they have decided to roll with Sam Darnold this week as we stay far away from him for fantasy purposes. D’Onta Foreman can be back in our lineups but with the understanding that weeks like last week are still in play making him more of a low-end RB2/FLEX option at best. It would be best to stay away from all Panther receivers as the Broncos defense has been stingy and the receivers D.J. Moore and Terrace Marshall haven’t been very helpful anyways with quarterbacks we perceive to be better.
Top Starts
RB Latavius Murray: Murray has led the Broncos backfield in recent weeks before Melvin Gordon was waived and should get the bulk of the carries while the Broncos try to find continuity at the position. Consider Murray a high-end RB2 with touchdown upside.
WR Courtland Sutton: Sutton has 18 targets over the last two weeks and has put up respectable PPR numbers. He faces a Panther defense that has been good at times but not good enough to deter from Sutton as a WR2.
D’Onta Foreman: Foreman is probably the only Panthers player worth starting and they should feed him as they will be terrified to let their own quarterback throw the ball too much.
Boom/Bust Dart Throws
WR Kendall Hinton: Hinton has been involved when other receivers have been out, amassing 119 receiving yards over his last two games. He could be in play as the Broncos are without Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler.
WR Terrace Marshall: Marshall has been seeing volume over the last few weeks and with the change at quarterback, Marshall could be who Darnold wants to target.
