DFS Pillar Plays
LaMelo Ball
Position: PG
Salary: $9,600
In his lone game against the Hawks this season, LaMelo Ball put up 34 points, five rebounds and four assists in just 29 minutes, while Trae Young had a 38/10 double-double with eight boards. So why go with LaMelo in today’s matchup? For starters, he shot 56 threes and got 33 assists in his last five games (all in March), while Trae Young shot only 25 threes and got 52 assists in his last four (again, only March stats here), having missed his last game for the same reason that’s keeping him questionable today – a quadricips injury. Over the last 15 games, the Hawks are allowing the best fg% and the 5th most assists to opposing PGs, while the Hornets rank 12th and 22nd in those statistics, respectively. Regarding 3pt%, the Hawks are allowing the 8th best to opposing teams, while the Hornets rank 19th. Trae’s injury status and LaMelo’s 3-point shooting volume mixed with Atlanta’s defensive woes make LaMelo a very exciting target in today’s premier PG matchup!
