We’ve reached the final day of Week 2, and if your fantasy matchup is still undecided, Sunday offers one last opportunity to make a difference. Four games are on the schedule, which should leave most managers with plenty of room in their starting lineups. That makes this a particularly useful day to chase a category, squeeze out an extra appearance, or take a chance on someone whose role has improved over the opening two weeks.
And there are several candidates worth considering. Brooklyn and Indiana are dealing with significant injuries in their backcourts, Toronto is learning how to play without Kawhi Leonard, and Orlando is getting some impressive performances from its supporting cast while Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs recover. Meanwhile, the Clippers are giving us a few unexpected fantasy contributors despite struggling to win games.
Friday also provided some excellent basketball. Golden State erased a 25-point deficit in an extraordinary comeback against the Lakers, Scottie Barnes scored 41 points in Toronto’s loss to Orlando, and Indiana’s depleted rotation continued producing opportunities for players who weren’t necessarily on the fantasy radar entering the season.
But the final day of a fantasy week requires a slightly different approach. We’re not simply looking for the best available player. We’re looking for someone who can provide the specific production your team needs, whether that’s a couple of steals, three or four 3-pointers, an extra block, or enough assists to turn a close matchup in your favor.
And with Monday featuring a full 15-game slate, there are some scheduling considerations worth thinking about before making your final move.
