We had a lot packed in on a slight Tuesday slate. The Bulls and Sixers delivered a fantastic show, with Chicago taking its only lead with 3.2 seconds to go. Josh Giddey became the first Bull to collect consecutive triple-doubles since Michael Jordan in 1989! The Magic continued to struggle while the Raptors continued to turn things around, dispatching a Bucks team that looked a little tired after an emotional win the night before in Indiana. Devin Booker’s mega heater continued and the Warriors won anyway, but not without a cost — Jimmy Butler left early and Steph Curry is sick. The Pelicans got their first win of the season in a crazy game with an even wilder box score on the same day that it was announced Zion Williamson would miss at least a week with his hamstring injury. The Thunder torched a shorthanded Clippers team that may be without Kawhi Leonard for a little bit. Great games, great fantasy performances all around.
As for Wednesday, it’s predictably busy. Anthony Edwards might be back and we are going to get some immediate intel on what to make of New Orleans, as well as how Golden State divvies up the work with some top guys out of the picture. The Cavs could have reinforcements back while Joel Embiid should get tonight off. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs draw a rested Luka Doncic and the Lakers. It’s going to have a lot of fantasy stories to sort through.
Top Pickups
This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.
Kon Knueppel
We circled Knueppel as a solid pickup in the wake of Brandon Miller’s should subluxation but noted that he was going to struggle to produce outside of points and 3-pointers. Last night Knueppel showed us something else, hauling down 12 rebounds to go with his 20 points and three triples. He’s starting every night, his shooting is an easy fit with any combination of teammates and he’s starting to produce in other facets of the game. Knueppel doesn’t have sizzling upside but having him around will help your team.
