Fantasy Basketball Week Ahead: October 26 – November 1

By Mike Passador Published October 23, 2026 2 min read

If it feels like we were just here, that’s because we were. We opened up the season with The Week Ahead on Monday and here we are, back once again as the season really starts to ramp up. There’s a lot to sift through already but not every game or stat line is worth digging into (hello, Phoenix Suns). Sometimes weird stuff happens in the early days of the season and  your fantasy squads get caught in that crossfire. We are still firmly in data-collection mode and although it’s difficult, it would behoove you to take a pragmatic approach and not sweat the early returns — yes, even if you lose this first week.

The second week will bring more “typical” games, both in terms of everyone settling into a regular schedule and teams figuring out the lineups that work for them. You’re going to start feeling a little more freedom in terms of dropping underpeformers (more on that at the end of the article) and your teams will really take shape. More games will level out the stats on your team pages and as we get more into a rhythm, you’ll be in a better spot in terms of projecting your squads. Now is when the fun begins.

Schedule Breakdown

We’re going to use this section to help you plan out your week. This is particularly helpful if your league has a weekly lineup lock, but you can certainly use the information to help steer you in the right direction when it comes to timing your adds and drops. Think of it as your weekly roadmap to getting the most out of your roster spots.
