Hi everybody! I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet as we have about 1 million things going on around here but because the team over here at SportsEthos has been so amazing, I’ve been able to put together a 24-month stretch of health for the ages. After having a rib surgically removed to address compressed nerves underneath my collarbone, which brought me to a place where I couldn’t sit, stand or type, in coordination with a crazy rehab and PT program, I’ve been able to heal my body enough to write and produce more premium content for our FantasyPass.
So, I’m going to be providing weekly waiver wire analysis on Mondays and also opening up my twitter feed for questions on a limited basis (on Mondays as well) and then opening it up for premium members after that in our discord server.
Anyway, without further ado let’s start digging out some diamonds
Here are FIVE PLAYERS from my TOP TEN WAIVER WIRE pickups from 200 player high stakes leagues (8-cat Roto)

Yes, the cavalry is coming back soon but Mitchell has been proving his minutes since entering the league. If he pushes folks out of the way and maintains late-round value it won’t be shocking.

A dip beyond that may be a slight underdog bet even when Jalen Green returns. So far he’s a top-50 guy with a usage percentage of over 30, which is more like his Memphis days and right now Devin Booker seems to be gearing down for the point guard role. This is probably a case of Brooks trying to get his looks early and on this squad there’s room for him to be a bit more utilized on the offensive side.

The top line concern is going to be health and if he can handle all of this workload. Houston certainly has the depth at center to spell him, but if Ime Udoka thinks this is the way then fantasy GMs are getting a late round center for the rest of the season.

I think the target here is late round value as the field-goal percentage is always going to be light and a lot of teammates have missed games in Atlanta so far. He’s running in the top 110 range with 37.2% from the field and 90% from the foul line on 3.3 foul shots per game, and those results will normalize in opposite directions leaving the question to be mostly whether he can keep up the volume of this role. Surely, Dyson Daniels GMs will be watching.

He has a nice ramp here for the next month and though a regression on percentages could send him tumbling outside the top 100, if you can deploy him for a larger amount of games you are more likely to get a balanced sample rather than chasing the heaters.
