Week two confirmed some priors from last weeks list if they’re still there. Some new pieces come to the forefront of our attention as well considering where were several injuries at the quarterback position, which is where we will begin..
Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones (IND) – Is Danny Dimes simply good now? We were right to question it week 1 whej he torched a poor Dolphins defense. “Let’s wait and see what happens week 2 in Denver.” The Broncos are a top tier defense and he looked very good going up against them, putting up over 300 pass yards. (FAAB 5-10%)
Mac Jones (SF) – Kyle Shanahan knows how to make life easy for a QB, and Jones is just the next guy in line to take advantage of the opportunity. He tossed for three touchdowns and 279 yards. Its interesting to note that they threw it almost 40 times, suggesting they trust the former first round pick to run the offense capably. (FAAB 0-5%)
Russell Wilson (NYG) – Holy guacamole, I did not see 450 yards coming after an abysmal week one showing. I will note that the Cowboys are probably the easiest defensive matchup they’ll face until they hit Vegas in week 17. He’s one of the last guys on my QB priority list this week, but deserves a minimal bid as a backup plan if you miss on the other guys. ( FAAB 5%)
Jake Browning (CIN) – Joe Burrow is set to miss three months or so. Browning has played good ball in the past, though this definitely hampers the Bengals as a whole. Still, hes someone to look at in deep leagues or desperate times. (FAAB 3%)
Running Backs
Bhayshul Tuten (JAX) – it became clear why Tank Bigsby was expendable, with the rookie running back looking good as a pass catcher and a runner. The immediate spike in his usage after the trade is hopefully a sign of things to come. Tuten mught ens up with stand-alone value, as Trevor Lawrence has had much more success fhrowing to gis backs than receivers early on. ( FAAB 25-35%)
Woody Marks (HOU) – It looks like Marks was able to get something going on Monday night with a long catch and run. He was always going to be a pass catching threat so take note in your PPR leagues. Chubb showed some burst himself, so it may not pay off right away, but the rookie 4th rounder could start to get himself more involved. Consider this an opportunityto be early on a player whos waiting to pop. (FAAB 3-7%)
Tyler Allgeier (ATL) – Seeing 10 and 16 touches respectively in what looks to be a very good offense isnt a bad thing to have on your bench. I’m sure the Falcons wont give their running backs near 40 carries every game, but we know both running backs can procure (Allgeier had 70+ yards and Robinson over 140 in week 2). He also remains an elite handcuff. (FAAB 5%)
Dylan Samson (CLE) – The fourth round rookie continues to remain involved in the offense. With Quinshon Judkins entering the fold, jt does put a damper on the upside for Sampson, but its apparent the team likes him as a pass catching a weapon put of the backfield with 11 targets through two weeks. He’s made good on all 11 as well, with a 100% catch rate so far. (FAAB 3-10%)
Wide Receivers
Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG) – Turns out we just needed a new quarterback to unlock the undersized slot receiver, and apparently he’s a deep threat now. Currently sixth jn receiving yards (197) and tied for seventh in receptions (14) Robinson could prove to be a weekly flex play. (FAAB 20%)
Troy Franklin (DEN) – The Broncos leader in targets, that Oregon connection is finally making strides in the NFL. He’s maynjust be the better version of Marvin Mims, which is a role this offense needs to complement Sutton and Engram in the passing game. (FAAB 5-7%)
Elic Ayomanor (TEN) – Turns our the second fourth round rookie they drafted was the answer at receiver for the Titans. Ayomanor has taken advantage of opportunities and in just one target off the leader down in Nashville (Calvin Ridley has 14). (FAAB 10%)
Tight Ends
Ja’Tavion Sanders (CAR) – it was nice to see the second year pro git double digit points (12) and was heavily involved. The bad news is the team also had fellow tight end Tommy Tremble involved as well. Hopefully Sanders can separate himself from his competitionto truly take over the tight end position. (FAAB 0-3%)
Harold Fannin (CLE) – Is it an overstatement to say hes already the TE1 in Cleveland? The rookie has already outproduced his veteran counterpart in David Njoku with two top 10 finishes and more targets. (FAAB 5-7%)
Juwan Johnson (NO) – Second on the Saints in targets but leading the team in receiving yards, Johnson is starting to put it all together. Two top four finishes to start the year will have you feeling pretty darn good about yourself if you have him on your roster. If he can remain consistent and on the field in this new offense, its becoming clearer and clearer that he is going to be a guy you want in your lineup regularly. (FAAB 10-15%)
The Droppables
Because for every add we make, theres someone that has to be dropped.
RB Kaleb Johnson (PIT) – Its apparently the Jaylen Warren show with a side of Kenny Gainwell. He remains a stash in dynasty, but can be cut loose everywhere else.
WR Marvin Mims (DEN) – Yes, I would drop Mims for Franklin if I had the opportunity.
TE David Njoku (CLE) – I’m simply cutting my losses, with Fannin taking over quicker than anticipated and other options on the wire if you’re in a shallower league.Remove featured image
