NOTE: The cutoff point will be 50% rostered in NFBC Rotowire Championship leagues (12-teams). The players will be listed in order of rostership (with exception being the top player).
Bryan Abreu – P – HOU – 6%
With Josh Hader down, Abreu, who has been one of the game’s top setup men, will now get a crack at the ninth inning. He already locked down save and figures to get plenty more chances for the Astros, who are looking to win yet another AL West crown. He is in the middle of his third campaign out of four that he has a sub-2.00 ERA (1.64, 2.40 FIP) and at least a 12.50 K/9 (13.25). Now, it is worth noting that Astros manager Joe Espada did refuse to name a closer so there is a chance someone else like Bennett Sousa gets a ninth but odds are, Abreu will be the dude in the ninth, many more times than not.
Recommendation – 12-teams – 20-40% of FAAB, depending on team’s need for saves.
