Game Total 214Key Storylines
They need him – The Cavs were relatively competitive in their games without Donovan Mitchell. They went 3-4 without him with a close loss to the Suns, big wins over the Timberwolves and Celtics, and a blowout loss to the Nets. Mitchell’s playing making ability and threat to score really opens up the floor in ways Darius Garland and Caris LeVert wished they could. In the world of fantasy basketball, his return probably does not allow enough time and usage for guys like Caris Levert and Isaac Okoro to be anything more than a schedule play.
Rocket push – These young Rockets just won’t quit as they have won two games without their best player, Alperen Sengun, who is out for the year. Granted, the two wins were against the Wizards and Spurs, but wins are wins and their 6-1 record coincides nicely with a 3-4 slide from the 10th place Warriors. Now Houston sits 3.5 games back of them for the final spot in the Play-In Tournament. Fantasy wise, it is important to see what happens to Alp’s usages and minutes. We already see Amen Thompson get enough of a minutes bump now that he is a starter. He continues to pad his case for rosterability (you should see if he is on the wire…). If Dillon Brooks gets a big usage bump, he can obtain 12-team value. Jock Landale is getting significant minutes and if the production comes, he might be a fun schedule play.
