Another week is gone and the fantasy playoffs are right around the corner, though some leagues may have already started theirs. You know what the Pickups of the Night are all about by now so let’s jump right into it.
Standard Leagues
(<50% rostered on Yahoo)
Bennedict Mathurin, G/F, Pacers (55% rostered)
Tonight: 39 minutes, 34 points (11-of-15 FG, 5-of-8 3PT, 7-of-9 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block
I’m making an exception here due to the small slate, so Mathurin will be included, although he may not be available in competitive leagues. Mathurin has been starting in place of the sidelined Aaron Nesmith (ankle) since games resumed after the ASB. In three starts, Mathurin is averaging 21.0 points, 3.0 triples, 8.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals, .488 FG% and .800 FT% on 5.0 FTA. Mathurin likely won’t continue shooting that well from the field and realistically, all of those numbers will decrease. However, if he is in a good streak of form then it’s worth a 12-team stream across all formats. He shot worse than this in the previous games though, so do be sure to account for him potentially sinking your FG% if the shots don’t go in but you don’t get a perfect player off the wire.
