• It’s trade deadline week, so fantasy managers should be more focused on saving adds for the fallouts of the impending trades rather than going all in on streaming this week. That said, that doesn’t mean you can’t make a pickup under any circumstances, but you should be choosing your moves very carefully. We will explore the potential adds from Tuesday’s seven-game slate as usual, but you don’t need to act on any of these unless there is some long-term benefit to be had.

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Amen Thompson, G, Rockets (28% on Yahoo)

Tonight: 34 minutes, 13 points (6-of-13 FG, 1-of-4 FT), 13 boards, six dimes and three blocks

With Fred VanVleet breaking down before our eyes, it only makes sense to scoop up the exciting rookie. He’s going to fly off the wire if he already hasn’t and represents one of the few moves you want to make before Thursday’s deadline.  It won’t be all rainbows though as his percentages are going to be volatile and his TOs frequent, but you can’t deny the bounty of counting stats from game to game.

Dillon Brooks, SG/SF, Rockets (35% on Yahoo)

Tonight: 31 minutes, 23 points (8-of-15 FG, 4-of-4 FT), three treys, three boards, four dimes and one steal

You never can tell which way the cookie will crumble and there is just as good a chance that Brooks gets more time than the dynamic rookie.  Brooks is pure chaos and you could get 20 points or an ejection on any given night, but he’s got some value as a points/triples specialist and has raised his FG% from 45.8% this season from a ghastly 39.6% last campaign.  I would rather add Thompson for the upside, but Brooks might be a tad more reliable.

Andrew Nembhard, PG, Pacers (12% on Yahoo)

Tonight: 31 minutes, nine points (4-of-5 FG), one triple, two boards, five dimes and one steal

The sophomore got another start and while the production isn’t the same with Tyrese Haliburton back, the 31 minutes look really nice and he hasn’t played less than 26 in any of the last four games.  He’s more of a stash though and insurance against Haliburton getting hurt again.  He’s definitely not worth adding before the deadline, but the talent is undeniable.
