Let’s blitz through Thursday’s light 3-game card as we continue to look for any edge we can find over our league mates.
Los Angeles Clippers @ Miami Heat
Game Time: 7:30 pm ET
Injury Report
Clippers: OUT: Norman Powell (left groin strain), Kawhi Leonard (right knee injury management), Terance Mann (concussion)
Heat: OUT: Kyle Lowry (rest), Omer Yurtseven (left ankle surgery), Gabe Vincent (left knee effusion); QUESTIONABLE: Jimmy Butler (right knee injury management), Dewayne Dedmon (left foot plantar fasciitis); PROBABLE: Max Strus (right shoulder impingement), Tyler Herro (left ankle sprain), Victor Oladipo (left knee), Duncan Robinson (left ankle sprain)
Stream of the Game
Oladipo might actually have a shot at delivering some value in deeper formats if the Heat decide to increase his workload with Lowry resting. However, he’s far too great of a risk for us to endorse him as an option in anywhere near shallow leagues given that this would be just his second game all season. On the Clippers side of things, we can look to Robert Covington and Nic Batum as low-end options, but Marcus Morris’ return from a non-Covid illness crowds their opportunity a bit.
Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs
Game Time: 8:30 pm ET
Injury Report
Rockets: OUT: Jae’Sean Tate (right ankle soreness); QUESTIONABLE: Josh Christopher (left foot contusion), Kevin Porter Jr. (right knee soreness), Bruno Fernando (illness)
Spurs: OUT: Jakob Poeltl (right knee bone bruise), Jeremy Sochan (right quad contusion), Blake Wesley (left MCL sprain), Keita Bates-Diop (left mid-foot sprain); DOUBTFUL: Devin Vassell (left knee soreness); PROBABLE: Josh Richardson (right ankle sprain), Romeo Langford (back tightness), Doug McDermott (right ankle sprain)
Stream of the Game
Tari Eason remains a streaming option, specifically when searching for defensive stats and rebounds on reasonable efficiency with the only drawback being the possibility of limited minutes. Eric Gordon could pop up with 3-point specialist appeal if KPJ is ruled out, but there isn’t a ton of upside to be had with the veteran. The Spurs is where things get interesting. Zach Collins is a must-stream option in category formats while he continues to get the start at center, while Josh Richardson could actually have some sneaky value in his return with Vassell unlikely to suit up. Charles Bassey has also found his way back into the center rotation off the bench and deserves some streaming appeal in search of the traditional big man stats. Bassey has shown us that he doesn’t need many minutes to deliver value so we could see him post top-100 value in around 20 minutes a game as he’s done over his last two appearances.
Denver Nuggets @ Portland Trail Blazers
Game Time: 10:00 pm ET
Injury Report
Nuggets: OUT: Collin Gillespie (right leg fracture), Michael Porter Jr. (left heel strain); PROBABLE: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (right wrist sprain)
Trail Blazers: OUT: Gary Payton II (reconditioning), Nassir Little (right femoral head impaction fracture); PROBABLE: Josh Hart (left ankle sprain), Drew Eubanks (right hip contusion), Keon Johnson (left hip pointer)
