Buying picks isn't all that uncommon, and the Clippers aren't the only team who will likely try to pull it off tonight. Some ownership groups might be more receptive to the cash than others, but win-now teams like the Clippers probably stand more to gain from a potential contributor on a low-cost deal than having a few extra million stuffed in Steve Ballmer's bottomless pockets. We'll see what happens.
