Gordon HaywardSF, Boston CelticsYahoo's Chris Haynes is reporting that the Hawks are "in play" to acquire Gordon Hayward from the Celtics.
The deadline for Hayward to make a decision on his player option has been pushed back to November 19, with conventional wisdom suggesting that he and the Celtics are using that extra time to work on something. It's been said that Hayward isn't happy with his role in Boston, and the Hawks could use a playmaker on the wing. With $44 million in cap space, the Hawks could opt to wait and try and sign Hayward if he declines his option, or go the sign-and-trade route. We'll see what happens.
