Gordon HaywardSF, Boston CelticsThere is "significant optimism" that Gordon Hayward (right ankle sprain) will be available to play in Saturday's Game 3, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hayward has been out since suffering a Grade 3 right ankle sprain on August 17. Interestingly, though perhaps not surprisingly, Woj adds that Hayward's return will give a boost to Boston's bench. While he is usually a starter, the Celtics figure to ease Hayward back into action — at least to the extent that's possible in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston will take any help it can get after their Game 2 loss led to a postgame altercation between Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown, and the team's season is very much on the line today.
