• Ben Simmons
    PG, Philadelphia Sixers

Adrian Wojnarwoski reports that Brett Brown is "without internal momentum" to return as Sixers coach next season.

A final decision may come down shortly but it's widely expected that today was Brown's final game with Philly. He steered the franchise through its ugliest depths at the height of The Process, but was ultimately unable to get the most out of the talent that all that losing yielded. Of course, plenty of blame lies at the feet of the front office and their decisions over the last few seasons, but Brown's going to be the fall guy. It's not his fault that the current group of players just doesn't fit together, but it is on him that they looked completely disinterested in putting up a fight against the Celtics. While the injury to Ben Simmons gives the Sixers a built-in excuse, there's no reason they should've been swept. Philadelphia can finally close the books on an ugly, joyless campaign. It was a true "1, 2, 3, Cancun" season — just without the ability to travel internationally at the end of the year.
