It’s another week of turnover on the waiver wire, with one of the game’s most hyped prospects making his return to the majors and a few unexpected names forcing their way into fantasy relevance. A former top-10 pick headlines the list, but a power-hitting corner infielder, a rookie catcher with advanced bat skills, and a veteran reliever back in the saves mix also make the cut. These are the pickups worth circling heading into the weekend.
Jordan Lawlar – SS – Diamondbacks – 41% rostered (Yahoo)
The Diamondbacks recalled Jordan Lawlar from Triple-A Reno on Monday after he tore up the PCL with a .336/.413/.579 line across 37 games. He racked up 23 extra-base hits and 13 steals while flashing improved plate discipline and defensive versatility, splitting time across shortstop, second, and third.
Lawlar was one of the most added players across fantasy formats before the season and now gets another shot to carve out a long-term role. With Eugenio Suárez slumping and multiple paths to at-bats, Lawlar should be stashed in all formats for his five-category potential.
