Week 5 Fantasy Football QB Rankings 2025

A disastrous injury and the first slate of bye weeks has absolutely decimated the QB position in Week 5.
Let’s go through the rankings for Week 5 as the fantasy season is really starting to heat up.

| 1 | Josh Allen | BUF | NE | With Lamar Jackson out multiple weeks, Allen becomes the undisputed king |
| 2 | Jalen Hurts | PHI | DEN | Hurts is the only QB in the league who could occupy this spot with the kind of pass volume he’s putting up. Tough matchup, but the tush push is matchup-proof |
| 3 | Patrick Mahomes | KC | JAC | Mahomes is throwing to some of the worst pass catchers out there, and is the QB3 on the year. He’s quietly having a fantasy renaissance. |
| 4 | Drake Maye | NE | BUF | Maye is the QB4 so far, and he’s been pulverizing weak matchups. Buffalo’s defense is inconsistent, so this could be another great spot. |
| 5 | Justin Herbert | LAC | WAS | Herbert’s rock solid this year, and he’s a no doubt QB1 with the start of bye weeks. |
| 6 | Jayden Daniels | WAS | LAC | Daniels is back, and with all of the injuries and byes in Week 5, he’s a slam dunk to plug right back in regardless of the matchup. |
| 7 | Justin Fields | NYJ | DAL | Possible start of the week against the sieve that is the Dallas defense. It’s not clear exactly what this will look like, but it could be absolutely massive. |
| 8 | Daniel Jones | IND | LVR | Jones slowed down a bit against the Rams, but this Vegas team has been leaking oil all year, so he’s still trustworthy. |
| 9 | Jared Goff | DET | CIN | Should be a smash for Goff, as Cincy might be the worst team in the league right now. |
| 10 | Kyler Murray | ARI | TEN | The other worst team in the league might be the Titans, but they’re slightly more low-scoring oriented. With no real RB to speak of, Murray should post points. |
| 11 | Dak Prescott | DAL | NYJ | Prescott absolutely balled out in the primetime tie, so inevitably he’ll probably come down to earth a bit, but he’s still earned QB1 status. |
| 12 | Bo Nix | DEN | PHI | Captain Checkdown continues to have an OK fantasy season while playing some shoddy real life QB. He’s on the fringes against the champs. |
| 13 | Baker Mayfield | TB | SEA | Mayfield continues to play well, but the injuries are unrelenting for the Bucs. No Bucky, no Evans and a road trip to Seattle is a tall ask. |
| 14 | Geno Smith | LVR | IND | Feels gross to have Smith this high after a three-pick week against a bad defense, but there’s no doubt this game should be high scoring and incentivize pass volume |
| 15 | Sam Darnold | SEA | TB | Time to put some respect on Darnold’s name. His efficiency is off the charts, allowing him to score adequately despite lower volume. |
| 16 | Jaxson Dart | NYG | NO | Dart has a fantasy friendly skillset that was on display last week despite the tough matchup. A much softer matchup makes him quite intriguing in Week 5. |
| 17 | Matthew Stafford | LAR | SF | Stafford has managed to be right on the QB1 fringe despite no rushing upside. This Thursday night game will be gross, but he’s got the weapons to survive it. |
| 18 | C.J. Stroud | HOU | BAL | Stroud’s been the most disappointing fantasy QB of the season so far, but surely even he can’t waste what looks like a cake matchup against banged-up Baltimore. |
| 19 | Tua Tagovailoa | MIA | CAR | It really gets gross after Stroud this week, so I guess Tua is semi-viable against a messy Carolina squad who Maye absolutely lit up last week. |
| 20 | Bryce Young | CAR | MIA | On the flip side, this should be a high-scoring affair where Young puts up points, but he’s such a gamble that the offense could tank week to week. |
| 21 | Trevor Lawrence | JAC | KC | How can you trust Lawrence when he can’t get his two best weapons the ball? KC in primetime is a brutal ask too. |
| 22 | Spencer Rattler | NO | NYG | This brings us to the backups and rookies section, helmed by Rattler, who despite the Saints being totally hopless has started as the QB19. |
| 23 | Carson Wentz | MIN | CLE | I mean, does anyone want to play Carson Wentz? No, but the end off the ranks this week are truly that gross. |
| 24 | Cam Ward | TEN | ARI | Ward is being let down massively by his coaching staff so far. That said, he’s started every week and is the QB34. It’s just so rough. |
| 25 | Jake Browning | CIN | DET | This game should be high-scoring, so at least there’s something for Browning to chase. |
| 26 | Mac Jones | SF | LAR | Mac Jones on a short week against the Rams with Kendrick Bourne as his top receiver, what could possibly be worse? |
| 27 | Cooper Rush | BAL | HOU | Well, Cooper Rush against the Texans, for one. There’s just nothing worth starting here. |
| 28 | Dillon Gabriel | CLE | MIN | However, I’d say a poorly regarded rookie making his NFL debut against the Vikings overseas is about the worst fantasy start I could possibly imagine. Godspeed, Mr. Gabriel. |
