Weather Impacts for NFL Week 5

  • The forecast calls for breezy weather in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. These are borderline winds that could slightly hinder the passing while slightly enhancing the running game. Games in Jacksonville and Pittsburgh have a chance of rain as thunderstorms could cause very brief heavy rain and possibly a weather delay.

    This weekly SportsEthos NFL weather report will show the weather forecast for each outdoor game. We will look for weather conditions that may help – or hinder – your fantasy players. We’ll also highlight games where weather forecasts may help us with Over/Under betting decisions.

    WEEK 5 SCHEDULE

    Sunday, October 6

     

    NY Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings in London (930am EDT)

    Weather: Cloudy and 60 degrees with light and variable winds around 5 mph.

    Impacts: The time zone difference might cause a problem for players but London’s weather should be a non-issue.

     

    Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears (1pm EDT)

    Weather: Sunny and 71 degrees. Breezy with northwest winds 15-25 mph.

    Impacts: These are borderline impact winds which might slightly favor RB scoring over QB/WR/TE scoring.
