New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots

The New England Patriots (1-1) will host the New Orleans Saints (1-1) in this Week 3 matchup. The Patriots are coming off of a 25-6 victory against the New York Jets while the Saints suffered an embarrassing 26-7 loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers. The Saints are now playing their third straight road game as their game in Week 1 was moved to Jacksonville due to hurricane Ida, Week 2 they played in Carolina, and now they travel to Foxborough for Week 3. This type of schedule to start the season is a tough task for any team let alone a team starting a new quarterback and still trying to find their identity. Saints quarterback Jameis Winston will have a tough time on Sunday if his offensive like performs the way it did in Week 2. Winston was sacked 4 times and pressured on more than 60 percent of his drop backs in Week 2 against the Panthers. We all know Winston has a history of turnovers and this came to light in Carolina where the Saints QB threw 2 interceptions. I believe Bill Belichick’s defensive mind accompanied by the Patriots top 5 passing defense will cause Winston headaches giving New England the advantage in the turnover battle. The Patriots will host the Bucaneers in Week 4 for Tom Brady’s return to New England. I believe that the Patriots will not fall for the look ahead trap and instead use this against against the Saints as a chance to tune up the offense and give quarterback Mac Jones some more freedom to let it fly. The Patriots would much rather hold a 2-1 record going into next weeks big matchup than suffer their second home loss this early season. I am going to back the home team and lay the points. My play is New England Patriots -3 +100 for 1 unit.
