Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2026: New York Knicks Team Preview

How’d We Get Here?
The Knicks completed an all-time feel-good run to the title, demolishing the field en route to their first championship in 53 years. A deeply likable group that fit together perfectly, the Knicks steamrolled the competition and consistently delivered in the clutch while providing fans memories that will last a lifetime. Nothing lasts forever, sadly, and James Dolan made it clear very quickly that the Knicks would not be going into the second apron to keep the team together. That meant goodbye Mitchell Robinson for sure, and the Knicks ended up letting Ariel Hukporti walk as well. They signed Andre Drummond in free agency to backfill the center spot and spent most of their money re-signing backcourt depth, retaining Landry Shamet and Jose Alvarado. It’s a thinner version of the team that won it all but the Knicks aren’t dramatically different at their core. We’ll see if that’s enough to stay ahead of the curve in a deeper Eastern Conference.
