Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2026: Milwaukee Bucks Team Preview

How’d We Get Here?
The Bucks’ last gasp at convincing Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay was a disaster. They waived-and-stretched Damian Lillard, incurring significant future cap costs, in order to sign Myles Turner away from the Pacers. Other than that… the Bucks had little to offer. It wasn’t all bad, as Ryan Rollins was a legitimate Most Improved Player contender and Kevin Porter Jr. had a solid season, but the other bright spots were few and far between. Giannis drama followed the team around every day, reaching a fever pitch at the trade deadline without a move being made. A commitment to riding things out could have calmed the situation down but things only got worse; Antetokounmpo was injured and ended up not-so-subtly accusing the Bucks of shutting him down without cause while Turner saw his minutes reduced. Doc Rivers flailed about behind the bench with no answers to any of the team’s problems. The Bucks finally bit the bullet on an Antetokounmpo trade, acquiring Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis and three first-round picks (plus a swap) from the Heat. They hired Taylor Jenkins as head coach and his work in making the young Grizzlies a legitimate playoff team was likely the big selling point for Milwaukee. A restocking of the cupboards puts the Bucks on track for a long-term rebuild, but they have a ton to sort out through on a roster with ridiculous imbalance up and down the depth chart.
